heard of arab news? it's one of the best and most respected newspapers in the middle east. and it is indeed based in saudi arabia. and if you read some of the editorials that get published there, they are frequently criticizing the backward saudi society and it is nowhere near as restricted as you'd imagine a saudi newspaper of being.

and i don't think the study was looking at freedom of press, rather looking at the likelihood of a journalist making it out of a country alive after covering a story there...
