Afridi undecided over central contract
LAHORE: Pakistan’s veteran all-rounder Shahid Afridi does not intend to sign the central contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to sequentially be available for lucrative offers from leagues being organised by different countries, according to sources.
Sources told Dawn that Afridi, who enjoys great marketing value in the cricketing world, keeps receiving lucrative packages from foreign leagues. However, if the flamboyant player signed PCB’s central contract he may not be able to feature in all games of those tournaments.
Sources further said the national team management was not happy with Afridi’s behaviour in the ODI and T20 series held recently in Sri Lanka. However, the management has decided not to submit any written report against him.—Sports Reporter

he shouldnt sign then, and think about himself. PCB is full of crap and dont deserve to make shitty contracts that bind players from earning money outside.

I don't think players have ever been happy with any boards, or vice versa. Correct me If I'm wrong.

if this was anyone other than afridi, there would be ton of talk about lack of patriotism and what not. hope afridi is judged by the same standards that people like yousuf were.

point is afridi has given up lucrative offer such as 700,000 dollars for BPL, so you can't question his loyalty, Afridi is one player that you can never question loyalty of regardless of how he plays

why not?
he's retired multiple times on a whim.
he's done dumb things that have led to him being banned.
all this has made him unavailable when the team needed him, same accusation that was leveled at yousuf for joining icl which resulted in him being banned.
why should his loyalty not be questioned? he should be subject to the same scrutiny as everyone else

He retired from test cricket in 2006 because he knew that it was not his game but was forced to comeback in 2010 by ijaz butt on a condition that if he doesn't perform, he will quit and that's what he did. He only quit from Odis once and that was in protest of butt, which he clearly stated. I don't know why you are always questioning his loyality...? Whereas, Yusuf, rana, Sami, Farhat and etc clearly did it just for money, they were all in contention for the national team but they decided to go for money(icl).

but why is that excused so easily? he has "retired" from the game multiple times, as if it's his dad's team he can walk into and walk out of whenever he feels like it. he's tampered with the pitch during a game. he's tampered with the ball during a game. he's threatened to hit a fan with his bat. all these violations have resulted in his absence from the game, at crucial times when the team needed him. just like yousuf knew him joining ICL would result in a ban from the pcb, afridi knew that dancing on the pitch, biting the ball, threatening to hit a fan would all result in the same punishment. i'm not saying that yousuf is an angel and afridi is the devil, definitely not saying that. but all i'm saying is that you guys just put afridi on this pedastal as if he's untouchable, whatever he does has a reason for it and he's immune to criticism. however if someone else does the same thing afridi does, they are vilianized. that's my point. hold everyone to the same standards and treat everyone fairly. perfect example is this article, if it was ANY OTHER PLAYER who was threatening to not sign a central contact so he could play in foreign leagues and earn more money, they would be branded a sell-out. because its afridi, nobody has even mentioned it.

I have to disagree with you on one thing that Afridi does all kind of stuff and don't get criticized for it, my friend Afridi is one player who gets criticized the most out of all the pakistani players, he is that kind of personality that either people hate him or love him!!!!
