best all rounder ever
stats wise i reckon irfan pathan will be the best all rounder ever,
hes only 21 with 100 odi wickets and nearly 1000 runs,
hes gonna take wasims odi wickets record for sure,
whats ur opinion?
think 10-15 years ahead with the current players
razzaq could also get wickets record as hes only 26 years old and already has something like 200 wickets

they will be judged primarily on test cricket atleast for a while.
Sobers probably the best - Kallis will overtake him in batting but need a few more wickets.

Its too early to say Irfan Pathan is the best allrounder, who knows how long he would be able to play ??

True bro! Not worth the post but lemme say a few words:
Best allrounder ever: Gary sobers!
Why?: He was a complete cricketer - a fine batsman, a good medium fast bowler, a very good fielder, a good spinner (he could even bowl china man!)
Irfan pathan has just started his career!! Wake up! He cannot match Imran Khan (second best allrounder in history of cricket!)

Well, I am an Indian and a crazy Indian supporter. But I am afraid Pathan hasnt yet done enough to be called the best ever. Infact he is far from that.
In my opinion, Sir Sobers remains the all time great. I have never seen him in action, but from what I have heard from every single soul who had the opportunity to see him perform, I am convinced that he was the best.

Agreed. Pathan's statistics are very good. However you wont know till you make a fair comparision of statistics of other good all rounders as well.

Stats dont mean crap in cricket..performance does..cuz Ganguly has stats and he is not in the team, Tendulkar has stats (prolly the best), but he is not performing and yet he is in the team..in my opinion Imran Khan was the best allrounder..cuz he was captain and prolly the best captain ever for any international cricket team...but like people have mentioned Sir. Sober.i have never seen him playing but heard lot about him. so he had to be the best ever...
Irfan Pathan is good no doubt.will he get the most ODI wicket from indian side.i think he will..is he the best all rounder yet? nop! cricket is the game that can show u the doors n e time....if irfan want to be better, then he has long way to go, Wasim could deliver 6 diff balls in ONE OVER, 6 diff..irfan cant..i have yet to c Irfan doing that...he got hattrick..and he can bat no Doubt!(prolly better then tendulkar or Sehwag now a days)..but he has long way to go

well irfan pathan has teh potential to be a good allrounder. however, if he wants to be successful, he has to bowl ast. I have no idea how he lost his pace - if you watch the 2004 singer cup matches, he was bowling at 142 K! now its like 125 ish...
if he cant bowl fast, he cant reverse swing the ball a great deal...his yorkers wont be that deadly either...if he **** that, then he can be a good consistent bolwer...as for batting, his avg of 27 is pretty good for a bowler...
over time, i think irfan pathan would emulate kapil dev more than imran khan in a sense that he will have a long successful career with consistent figurs and numbers, but withiout the flash and too many legendary performances.

i feel pathan is starting to kill his bowling by focusing on batting
he needs to realize hes really needed for his bowling, so i believe he might just fade out because he may have lost his form in bowling and wont be needed for his batting alone
focus on your bowling and let the runs come
just like akram did
