It's unrealistic to expect people to chant throughout an ODI match anyway, let alone T20's.

Hardly, if the Barmy army can chant through 5 dayers in scorching sun in Sydney, its unrealistic to chant through an ODI match?

I totally get what Zain is talking about in reference to every player having a unique set of chants. To those who watched the NBA finals...this might some familiar at the TD garden when Rondo makes a basket.
Rajoooooooon RondOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! !!!!! (crowd goes wild)
Or KOBE's ever so present MVP chants!
I think its fair to say that Cricket fans are some of the most boring out there, but each fan base has its distinction.....we've got the horns, the Windies have their calypso music, Sri lanka always has their bands, England's got their Barmy Army...etcc

Whatever cricket games I actually been to, I found Cricket fans very entertaining. Especially, when Pak have played against India. Their mock and comments were witty and sarcastic. The chants created energy that made the experience all more entertaining. So I disagree just on my experience that Cricket fans are boring.
Chacha Cricket, is known to generate cricket chants for Pakistan.
May be crowd in other places are boring.

how are the crowds different? The ONLY difference IS, one crowd can create an atmosphere and can come up with different witty stuff that is clever and loud..The other one just repeats the same thing over and over..
Both crowds have mouths, both crowds can shout, both crowds have brains, both crowds love their teams, both crowds want their teams to do well, both crowds want to create an atmosphere and make themselves intimidating to the opposition fans and players, both want to lend their teams full support..
So what really is the difference? The only difference I see is one type of crowd actually so something when the atmosphere sucks, while the other just sits back and accepts the fact that they are 'different' and so we cannot do anything about it!

The difference is that it's just not the norm among cricket crowds. You have been to quite a few cricket games yourself, now tell me you start chanting and creating the sort of atmosphere you expect from football crowds? Of course you don't.
Secondly, chants aren't the only way of creating atmosphere. If they can make noise (without the horns), cheer, clap whatever.. That's good enough for me cuz in the end it's the results that matter and not what kind of chants the crowds come up with.

Lets just put it this way, i'd rather watch a match at Edgbaston than Lord's.......why? The crowd and its resulting atmosphere....

I'd rather watch a cricket game between India and Pakistan than a football match between Barcelona and Real Madrid. The atmosphere undoubtedly would be more energetic in the football match but in the end of the day I'm interested in the result of the match and not the crowd.

bumble got it spot on. i was at the game on tuesday and the noise was a bit too over the top. no doubt all our lot are there supporting pakistan but the actual game is not followed to closely to say the least! its seems more important to get yourself on tv for most of the crowd. also u dnt really have to stand after each delivery do you thats annoying too. i was with some friends and also my 5 year old daughter. we finally moved towards the back of our stand so we could see over all the peeps standing. she really enjoyed her first live game but it would have been nicer if she could have actually saw more of the on field action. and i agree, used to love getting involved in the chanting but theres less of it nowadays cos of the horns. but lords will be nice im sure, they dont tolerate anything like this there. bhams kinda pindi anyhoo!

Funny how someone here said no one cares about Bumble's 'opinion' yet that person was the first one to get all wind up by his 'opinion' and put him on a cheap blast. LOL
I think commentators' comment on horns certainly hold some wait since these guys literally had to put a finger in their ear when they were doing the pre match commentary and doing captains' interview later on. To me the point is that in last two two T20's matches, the horn noise was quite excessive throughout the whole match, and like someone said crowd with the horns weren't even following the game, which is a great shame. You want good attentive and entertaining crowd as oppose to disturbed and distracted. And before someone horns about 'oh they create atmosphere', no I have nothing against using of horns, come on its T20, but I rather have it after a boundary than hear continuous louder than loud Baaaaaaann Baannnn Baaaannn Baaannnn Baaannnnnnn Baaaaaannn throughout the entire match.

Most people forget that Barmy Army also consists of focused cricket spectators, they don't chant endlessly in fact they follow the game with quite a sharp eye for obvious reasons, I'd say they have their sessions of chanting. lol

Dont forget west indian fans ...i have been to couple of games in carribean including that 20million game btw england and west indies. Believe or not, they had all possible equipments out there to lift up their team. I remember they had two DJs on each side of the ground, playing two separate songs at the same time, but sometimes it does get annoying for elderly members who are over 50.

this is the way normal of pakistani fans' celebrations, etc( dont know about india) it was in WC99, WC2003 (i think ?) and so on......
#but it is very big in england...in almost all the ODI's played in UK involving pakistan......david loyd a.k.a bumble, is very very late on complaining about it.
This is the way now for the pakistani fans to celebrate and enjoy.... bumble is just getting nervous that this high charged pakistani supporter's atmosphere will drown the likes of BARMY ARMY and the rest of english supporters....
I hope the pakistani fans bring bigger horns this time and give bumble and english fans a run for their money
