Even though we handsomely won but!

You can praise a team as much as you can after a win, but I still think that we can further improve by making the following 3 changes in the next games:

  • Razzaq bowled a million times better than 'R.I.P' Tanveer. He bowled steady and wicket to wicket. But still I think that against the likes of Gayle, Smith, Gambhir or any other quality striker he might strugle in the first 6 overs. I would rather bowl Amir and Gul to start with. The first 6 overs would be as follows: 1.Amir 2.Gul 3. Amir 4.Ajmal 5. Amir 6.Razzaq
  • I would not bat Razzaq at number 3, specially when the spinners are bowling. I would rather prefer to see him bat in the slog overs against the faster bowlers. He can change the game in 2 or 3 overs by his clean hitting.
  • Misbah is being wasted at number 6 or 7. I don't know why Younus is so keen to bat Malik so up the order. I would bat Misbah at number 5 or above so he has enough overs.

Lately so many people have been complaining that why don't we criticise the flaws -if our team wins- and pose suggestions for improvement? So all you ever so wondering folks out there, here's a chance to vent your moderate 'post-win' dissatisfaction/s.

As with me, I still think our opening is seriously cursed. Kamran Akmal was going really well, we should not have lost our wicket at 39. In fact 4 wickets lost for chasing 100 whereas ideally our opening could've wen't all the way.

Secondly, is Malik out of form? Although he does look little out of character and usual rhythem which means I guess he shouldn't bat up the order, and make room for Fawad Alam or Misbah.

Well, if we chase a big target we should open with Afridi and Shahzaib with Akmal at no 3.

Misbah definitely has to bat at no 4 because he takes time to get in and he isn't a player who just starts hitting sixes at the end..he needs some time to get in first and be in his flow.
Malik should be kept for the lower order hitting..and Razzaq should be used according to the situation. If we bat first or a normal total..Razzaq should come in at no 3. He may not play spin well but if we lose an early wicket we need someone to keep the momentum going.
Younus should play at no 5 that way he can hold the innings together..

Two team combinations:

When we chase a big total:
Shahzaib
Afridi
Akmal
Misbah
Younus
Razzaq
Malik
Alam
Gul
Aamir
Ajmal

When we chase a total under 180:
Akmal
Shahzaib
Razzaq
Misbah
Younus
Malik
Afridi
Alam
Gul
Aamir
Ajmal

Afridi BTW can also be used flexibly..I mean like he yesterday came in at no 5. Also, he should be brought in before a batting crisis..not when the required run rate is above 10...this only puts pressure on him and the only thing he will do is get out early after playing a big shot.

Afriodi himself doesn't wanna open outside of subcontinent...so no need to put pressure on him.

As for Abdul Razzaq I think Younis made him come at no 3 just to let him some batting practice and that we were sure to win that game. But yes he should be our finisher and come just before Afridi.

He said this concerning ODI's...T20 is a bit different and I think he can imagine opening. That's what he said during the last WC which was in SA.

Anyways if there is some swing he'll be clueless and the pressure will be on the following batsman.
He's okay at finishing and most would agree with this.

Most will not agree with this. Have you even seen his T20 matches? Average of 13 and galiyan to him he is only a bowler etc..WTH is that? One day ago you all were crying..he is not an allrounder anymore..Yesterday he took that big catch and scored..he just needs to bat up the order and he will score in T20. He will definitely have a better average than 13 at opening(that's his average down the order).

a_b is a jewel in the rougha_b is a jewel in the rougha_b is a jewel in the rougha_b is a jewel in the rough
1. I dont think Razzaq will struggle bowling to batsmen of greater ability. Infact he will still be better than Gul. Its just that even Gul struggles to contain and take wickets of good opening batsmen and Razzaq who's suppose to be a lesser bowler than him, BUT due to his experience and reasonable line should not be more bad than what Gul is in the first few overs. I think Razzaq's strengths outweigh his weaknesses when compared to Gul for the initial overs.

2.Spinners are not only bowling in the middle period. We have seen Dhoni and Graeme Smith to keep them for the late overs as well. Hence Razzaq should set himself a position and bat there regardless of whether spinners are on or not. But my view is that he should be coming in at the slog overs.

3.
Agree with that.

well the only reason razzaq came up the order was to get some batting practice before some of the games...i expect him and fawad alam to come up the order against ireland too....and fawad needs to be up the order anyway..you have plenty of hitting options down the order with razzaq, malik and afridi
