And the reason is, if my curiosity brings out something that Hashim Amla did NOT wish to disclose out in Public then I may be contributing towards not covering a fellow pious Muslim's short comings. You know "parda poshi" or "Kisi ki izzat rakhna".
It's quite clear in the Islamic teaching that "if you do "parda poshi" of a fellow Muslim, Allah will do "parda poshi" of your short comings on the judgement day.
So I wouldn't talk about him being not fasting even if I knew this first hand. That's between him and his lord. I don't have to blabber.
From one of Amla's recent interview I noticed that... there were no "first of all I would like to thank my Allah", or "Alhamdolillah" or saying "Inshallah" after every two three words in every sentence. I have a feeling that he is perhaps a better muslim than many of those 'Sajda Performing' Pak players yet he strikes an excellent balance between being an exceptional pro and a person who is close to his faith but does not mixes 'em both up in a mere display of show off.

If only more people had the same attitude and school of thought, we'd be living in a much better and more tolerant world where people keep their faith to themselves rather than feeling the need to show it off to the rest of the world!
Good post!
