I see we have lot of experts here so my qts is very simple, who should lead pak in ODI and Test, since almost all here believe Misbah shouldn't be captain.

I m just asking for names don't start why misbah is this and that, we all know all the reasons so lets stick to naming and reason why should this person be captain. Bear in mind captain should be leading in 2015 WC

I will start I want Malik to captain ODI and T20 with VC in ODI to be azhar ali and babar azam the U19 captain to be his VC in T20 (but post WC T20)

Azhar should be VC also in test under misbah for couple of yrs atleast.

I recognize azhar from the current lot as the most likely candidate to lead the team, I could be wrong but I don't see anyone coming even close to captaincy level.

Why Malik, because he has been the most successful captain in domestic.

Misbah is a very good test captain. You will never one better than him.

But he is not ODI material, simple. You got to let your best bowler have the longest spell when he just took 3 quick wickets and specially when he is on top of the opposition batsmen.

Thats why I have been saying this since last year. We need a different Captain for ODI and Test.

Misbah for Test Captain.

Afridi for ODI Captain.

And can you give a reason why do you want to remove Misbah from test captaincy ? (Since you know all of us only want him to be removed from ODI captaincy and not the team).

You know you will not find a better test captain than Misbah. So your reasoning, please?

I don't want him to be removed from any captaincy, since everyone bitching abt removing him as odi captain i tot lets find out who should lead.

Ur choice afridi can't even solidify his own spot in ODI he is close to 35 his reflexes are going down look at his fielding lately, with 2 new balls his bowling gonna be average and his batting always hit n miss he cant even hit 3 sixes to equal 300 which he been going after for last 2 series. We gotta look at 2015 afridi is not the answer

i think if i have to chose an odi captain, maybe i'll chose someone young like azhar ali to groom him, choosing afridi is not the option

Secondly if you speak about performance then same can be said of misbah.

I did not base my decisions of ODI captaincy to be handed over to afridi because of performances, duh. That way Misbah easily will loose out and I will win win my argument easily.

The reason was beacuse that after yonuis khan the most attacking captain in the field is afridi.

from imran khan to wasim akram to waqar younis...etc ...etc all the skippers .....you will find something common :-

Those matches in which pakistan had an aggressive and attacking mindset in the field we have won those matches. True we had most attacking bowlers like waqar younis or shoaib akhtar to do that but you need an attacking field setting and aggressive approach to support your wicket taking bowlers.

And that was the most profound qualities of Afridi i liked about in him.

And the way Afridi built this team after 2010 spot-fixing and then the way he captained pak in 2011 WC - just shows qualities of a captain.

I always believed in different captain in each format.

Hafeez should take over if misbah stops.. There is no others who Can take over

If we go with Shoaib Malik- back to square one..
if we go with Shahid Afridi- back to square one..

Attacking captain wasim akram, waqar and imran khan dont have that great of record its a myth attacking captain, misbah attacks with what he has pehle team deklho phir attacking ki baat karoo. Ahmaqana stupid wasim akram and IK have ruined pakistani cricket in name of attacking cricket afridi is a prime example of that mentality. Ik was lucky as hell he had miandad who could strategize and plan all IK had to do was lead bara turram khan banta hai without miandad he would have been shite captain, 1987 semifinal lost at home that was IK, shukar karoo miandad won us 92 wc

You cant compare misbah and afridi form, afridi is too hyper under his captaincy he decided to eat the ball and as I said if you gonna change the captain then it must be in keeping in mind 2015 wc

Now looking at 2015 wc i wouldnt retire misbah, afridi etc for simple reason if they fit to play we will win wc.

1996 - 2011 look at indian team core player stayed same and by 2011 wc they had group of core players which won them wc, pak prob every wc or every big tournament we have mostly new team, what misbah did post match fixing can never be repaid he has already proven that in test matches, 2011 wc we had afridi as captain kia teer mar liya apart from aus which were in decline what other great matches we won?
