I said it before.. Kohli is a top player.. people used to compare him with Umar Akmal.. what a joke... Akmal should take some lessons on how to become a batsman.. Kohli is easily my favourite Indian player..
Comparing kohli with akmal was natural as both the players showed some serious talent and both are young but now kohli has establish himself in "League of extraordinary gentlemens of cricket" and it's just the beginning.
no doubt kohli is a specialist batsman in ODI but his talent doesn't suit him in T20's. He takes time to settle in & in t20's you don't get much time. so, i don't see him performing well in the upcoming T20 Worlcup.

On the other hand pak still wins one or two of their matches outside asia. so idon't see a comparison between ind & pak.

Then recently ENG also beat them and took the Ashes. Put Ricky Pontings illustrious career as captain to an end.

India does have a dominant last decade than Pakistan, I concede that but as far as competing against AUS, ENG and SA it is really the stretch from 2006-2008 where India outperformed them. AUS was going downhill after the retirement of Warne, Grath and rest and India was up and coming. India made the most of the opportunity presented to them and no qualms about it.
Comparison with Pakistan technically doesn't make much sense. First because Pakistan hardly has any series at home against these teams. The ones it had they performed better, like against ENG in 2005 and SA in 2004. Secondly, Pakistan batting was never their strength in this period and never was the winning factor. It has always been the bowling. Pakistan has won the series at home or abroad because of bowling. At home they have won under most helpful batting conditions, whether it's Shoaib Akhtar of 2005, Asif of 2006 or Ajmal of 2012, Pakistan bowling has won them on batting paradise of sub continent. In comparison, Pakistani batting is as disappointing as it can be and it's regardless of help from pitch and conditions or not. During this stretch, if Pakistan had won in India on flat tracks, it's again because of bowling, whereas in 2005 when India lost to Pakistan in Pakistan, that was again because of Pakistan's bowling and on flat tracks.
Now if you compare the last two years including the tumultuous period post 2010 spot fixing issue, Pakistan's performance has been encouraging. You have to consider the factors that not playing at home, a revamped squad without having the services of talented stars, under the immense pressure of axing from international cricket all together, with no help from Asian block whatsoever (aside SL), and constant bias of ICC; you name me one team who can succumb to those circumstances and came out belligerently successful. That only says one thing that after all the politics played against Pakistan Cricket, we are still there and still competing. The determination to do well is still there and it's just a matter of time for them to raise against the test.
