Lessons From Today's Epic Humiliation

1- For every Imran Nazir, Kamran Akmal, Umar Akmal, you got to have an Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali in the line up. Just like for Afridi's shenanigans, there has to be an Inzy and MoYo down the order. You cannot have 5 batsmen, all of whom are just a brain fart away from collapse.

2- Don't be stupid with experimenting. If you are going to do experimenting, then do something which makes sense. There was no logic in bringing Saeed Ajmal back and not bringing Umar Gul when Warner and Watson were on rampage against spinners.

3- If you get a high score to chase, focus on solidifying in first few overs not on blasting everything out of the ball park. If one idiot do that, the next batsman should not do that. You will not be killed for not doing it.

4- So much for testing bench strength. This only expose the way to destroy spin attack, which was so highly rated up until now.

Feel free to add more...

The answer is in your question. "Because he is Hafeez". You like to think he become something else, well NO. He's still Hafeez. and he'll keep reminding you that time to time.

I am OK with the experimenting and epic humiliation part AS LONG AS THE LESSONS ARE LEARNED, and THAT'S the issue. When was the last time we ever learned a lesson?

No !!! but he played the same risky shot that he tried in the previous delivery. Upon which both commentators thought that he mis-timed but when they showed replays , even the commentators were surprised for hafeez choosing a half follow-through risky shot.

Now if hafeez saw that his first attempt on the same shot was so risky then why did he try to attempt is again ???

I don't beleive that hafeez is stupid or silly to try the same failed stroke again.

even in the first attempt it looked so fishy as if he was trying to throw his wicket away.

All of the other wickets looked genuine ...but hafeez's don't add up and I just dont buy it.

I am going to wait for Imran Khan to fix the Pakistan and Pakistan cricket Board and Pakistan Cricket team. Then after that I will be hopeful of minimizing fixing. till then there will be more rollar coaster rides.

Couple of points aamer:

1) @ BOLD: again "because he's Hafeez", not Mike Hussey

2) You are calling Hafeez Wicket as possible throw-away wicket?? means Fixed??

3) Zakir Khan and company are all Imran Khan people. They are the one running PCB for last 10-15 years. Who else would you want in PCB so it can run like Imran Khan way?

I will tell you a lesson I learned. Every captain that comes in chooses players from his province. When Afridi was there you saw karachi player, salman butt was there you saw players from lahore. Hafeez is there now all of a sudden we have like 6 sialkot players playing. this has to stop if we are to continue being good.

Hafeez is not from Sialkot. He plays for Faisalabad, and is actually from Sargodha.

And if Sialkot players are in the team, they deserve to be there. They are national champions, the best players available to Pakistan.

Good points but the funny thing is that the OP consists of mostly just common sense... and despite that Pakistan will still make the same mistakes.

Get ready to get owned by India on September 17th, 2012 in our practice game againt them.
