Match officials had expressed security concerns, admits Zakir Khan

Zakir Khan, PCB director cricket operation admitted that ICC match officials had expressed their concerns regarding their security however hang-off the call before replying any satisfactory answer regarding "his assurance to the match officials".

Chris Broad, ICC match referee slammed Pakistan for providing poor security, since they were earlier promised to be given a presidential-style-security. ICC assigned Board to officiate Pakistan and Sri Lanka Test series.

Broad expressed in a press conference on reaching Manchester, Shortly before the Test Match phase of the tour he had expressed concerns over security, because he had "an inkling" that "something might happen". However, he had been assured by Zakir Khan - Pakistan's director of cricket operations, that "everything would be fine".

"Yes, I have acknowledged regarding the security concern by ICC Match officials," Zakir told Cricdb. When asked, did you assure them[ICC Officials] the presidential-style security, he replied with ruthlessly and said "Go and ask PCB" and hang-up the call.

When Cricdb approached Salim Altaf - PCB Chief Operating Officer who replied, "Ask Zakir regarding what he said[assured to ICC's officials a presidential-style security]."
