I am getting sick and tired of these dropped catches. I think it costed us at least 10 matches in the last year or so. So I have come up with methods to stop this waste:

1. Dropped catch costs the player 25% of his match fee. This should go to the unlucky bowler.
2. Player who drops a catch has to do 25 push-ups, right after stumps. He should do this on the pitch so the whole stadium will see what a moron he is.

So these are my two ideas. You might agree or post another idea in this thread. WE NEED DRASTIC MEASURES PEOPLE!

Agreed, PCB has done so hilarious things in the past that these measure will appear effective for a team like Pakistan.

LOL.. this might actually work. And if a player drops two catches he shall be docked his whole match fee. Phir dekhna, these guys will be diving everywhere Jonty Rhodes style.

Right.. Lets imply rules that are gonna make our players not even TRY to catch the ball.

well i think no one loves to drop those catches
it happens bcoz they are not gud enough fielders.
PCB shud do only one thing. try to coach all the domestic players. thats the only way. will last long. otherwise it ll keep on happening .

did you guys see that piece during the first test when they were making fun of how pakistan was doing fielding practice for the slip catchers with intikhab alam giving practice? obviously if that is their standard of practice then obviously they will drop catches. there needs to be much more intensity during practice and much more emphasis placed on fielding.

I think dropping catches has more to do with our players being lazy and not wanting to be on the field... Players like Younis, Fawad Alam and Afridi actually enjoy fielding and you see them a lot more enthusiastic on the field that is why they are so good at it but the rest of the players just hate standing there for straight 5-6 hours... Shakal se lag raha hota hai ke dil nahi kar raha fielding ka

the match fee point is good but 25 push ups r too less shud be 100!
But i guess penalizing players will not turn out to be as effective as a proper fielding practice would. Now i dont know the proper practice required but obviously the fielding coach does and he better do something about it

The amount of catches we've dropped in this series so far, obviously shows how the team - and in particular some players- have pretty much lost the stamina for test fielding. Is it because of lack of test cricket or less than ordinary fielding practices; whatever it is, they need to fix it immediately if they want to survive the Aussie series.

Starting from street cricket as kids not have them scratch their balls, talk on their cell, have a seat on the ground etc. when it is their turn to field.

My Question is..Who is Pakistan fielding Coach??
