Salaam, GUys I seriously think that Pakistan is not in the right condition to host the champs trophy or any other international event. There are bombs going off somwhere in the country every other day. People are dieing, there are constant threats going against the governement by the taliban. Just recently ( 2 days ago).. There was a suicide attack on a munitions factory and over 50 people were killed. That attack was followed by a message from Maulana Umer saying they will continue to do these attacks in LAHORE pindi and islamabad unless the GOVernment stops their advances on the border,...


Now think about it anyone in the right mind wouldnt go there, I mean this is cricket for crying out loud. You are willing to risk the Lives of other people just so you can watch a few days worth of cricket. Just imagine what if somthing did happen and some cricketers died?> Would you think that Pak will ever host cricket again... No we wont.. Right now our country is instable and if I were another country I would definitely pull out... I am a proud pakistani but we cant ask others to risk their lives to entertain us.

Anything can happen..

even if PCB or BCCI pulls them to play ..

what if a blast occurs in bw or vice versa , tournament gets canceled that would be rather more embarrassing as nothing can be said , WHATS NEXT

but if half the countries are willing to come and they aren't worried about their lives why are the others acting like chickens... even Indians, Sri Lankans and West Indians are human... what about the Pakistan cricket team who live their all the time without security let alone presidential level security... I would agree as well if every team said it's not possible... but right now it's half and half...

i agree with adeel 100%... pak is currently not at all suitable to play CT hosts... specially after the recent brawls between the talibans nd muhajirs... secondly after the resignation of musharraf... nd elections coming up again... pak is unstable at the moment... nd we cannot host CT...

i would still go for SAF as CT hosts... coz pak isnt suitable for ny sort of tournament at the moment... believe me... halaat bohat kharab hain

we all know that if the Champions Trophy gets relocated the Asian Bloc will boycott... it's as simple as that and now they have stated it in the media to make it certain that they will boycott.

then let them boycott it... if thts the solution they see to the whole situation... but personally i would hav luvd to see champs trophy go on... coz nasim ashraf is gone... nd for surely pak wudnt hav gone through to the semis... wich would hav led to a new captain new chairman new coach... jst at the right time b4 the world cup... we wud hav got the changes we needed... but in case champs trophy is boycott then god knows wen will pak play against a strong opponent next...

The other half of the countries are not acting like chickens, instead they are acting responsible. PCB, BCCI have absolutely no regard for the team personnel. The reason BCCI is pushing it so hard bcoz they are worried that 2011 world cup (supposed to be hosted by ind, pak, sl & bang) will be in jeopardy if this tournament gets cancelled. They do not worry about the players and the coaching staff. Actually when did they ever worry about the players? All they had done so far is running cricket as a business (check the # of tours by india) and trying to maximize the profits. India will never let anything happen to the 2011 world cup event (it is such a cash cow) and that is the reason for the support. I wish Sharad Pawar, Niranjan Shah and all the BCCI officials had the balls to travel with the team to prove that security is safe in pak.

So, do not diss the cricket boards that acts responsibly and have the overall well being of their star players in mind.

Yea well you guys wont be so sorry when somthing drastic or fatal happens in pakistan if any of the foreign cricketers get injured in any way... THink about it people..... If a bomb blast was to occur and harm a cricketer or even god forbid kill a cricketer.. How sorry would you feel then.... .? I mean sure they wil get presidential security, but why risk it when the governemnt cant evn protect themselves... ( munitions factory)..? I mean the taliban people are unpredictable... if anything goes wrong... then say bye bye to any future tournaments in pak as it would set a bad precedent....

ENG or RSA should host it.. And they are smart for not coming to tour pak, they know best about security... WI, IND, SRI, BANG... they dont care about the blasts because they wanna make money and play cricket...

I agree with u adeel ..... for example 2008 ki Trophy kisi or county mein hoti or wahan per bi her rooz bombs chaal rahe hote n loog marr rahe hote .....Tuh pakistani players bi us mulaak mein jane se inkar ker deta ....jahan per jaan ko katra ho...

but your life is at risk everywhere these days... I would agree with you folks if the fact was that the PCB wasn't giving any security or the security being given was mediocre, but with the current preparations regarding the security I feel it's an insult that the teams aren't coming. We have had so many people (presidents, prime ministers , foreign delegates) come to Pakistan who were much more important then mere cricket players (who btw think they are god) If they can come and go safely why can't they. Yea these teams are staying here for longer then those people would but there was just an asia cup completed and a team that you would expect to be attacked would be the Indian team with the past differences amongst both countries. Yet, they seem to love coming to Pakistan and are always out and about without security in Pakistan becaues they know it's not as bad as it seems. Looks like the media has gotten to you folks as well.

don't even go there lol... can you imagine what the English media would do to our players... these people are hypocritical... when they do it then it's fine but if we did it they would put us down to hell. Don't trust those idiots it was quite evident in the 90's how racist and selfish the "white" bloc was and is.
