RUNG(Green): debut album review:
Oh yes! We are back again. With another debut album and another review! It seems that I have only done debut album reviews till now. Oh well! Its fine shine with me! As long as the music is good, it is appreciated, wherever it turns the other way, I switch to my dark half. Rung, what to say about them? they hit the mainstream with their long awaited debut album Green. I wonder if the Green is like this, how would yellow be? Or…red for that matter? Doesn’t really matter, as long as the music is good all is good! Heard a lot of praise for their debut single “hum na”, heard the demo and was impressed. The song had a very soft an subtle approach and reached out tenderly to all ages. Stayed on no.1 in charts, which was a great achievement. The band that consists of Iftikhar on the vocals, Sarmad on the guitars, Zulfiqar on rhythm guitars and Wasim Kamal on drums. Rung consisting of four members is apparently a whole combo. Well as I have decided to keep short this review I think I will now switch to the chop chop as time and their music will tell us more about Rung.
Behissy:
Starting off with a very peculiar track indeed. A very realistic approach! Criticizing the world. Behissy, means insensitivity, but this song is very sensitive.
The composition is mature, the drums are done very nicely. The lyrics are very insightful and inspiring indeed. I liked this track because of the lyrics and theme mainly. Vocals are of a different type! Though because of the recording quality the song actually is not as impressive as it could really have been. Nice track over all. Different and realistic.
Gets a 7 out of 10. as simple as it can get.
Bin Kahay:
Another sensitive track but with a totally different theme than that of Behissy. It simply talks about love lost and how the moments we spend with those who we love always come back to haunt us back when they are no more. A very tender, melancholic, and sensitive approach. Indeed a very good track. The composition again is very good. Iffu’s vocals again are very nice. Very soft and sweet voice. The ascend of the song is remarkable. It is simply a very touching track. I don’t think I have to explain it very much. Everyone should interpret this song in there own way.
Gets an 8 out of 10. for the sweetness and the sadness!
Hum Na/Hum Na (karaoke version)
The track that got Rung the fame. A very sensible and romantic track. Again a very sweet approach, romance under concentration. A bold composition, a little out of bluish track. A fragrant track. A good touch with tablas. A classical and rockish approach. This give the track a certain authenticity. Though I would most certainly admit that the track has some of the Vita Sign in it! I don’t know..i just feel that way. I might not exactly be right but still. Lyrics are good. The theme is common. Over all is a very good track.
There is not a huge difference in the karaoke version. It lmost seems the same to me. Though u can simply call this a list filler. Sorry to say, but it is never a good idea tohave a single track in the same album with a very slight difference twice.
Gets an 8.5 out f 10. Job well done!
Kahan:
Starting off with internet connectivity. Yes the song talks about a girl who was suppose to come by at 6:30 and the guy is still waiting and its 7:30. Oh come on! Girls take that much time in putting make up itself. Stop being shallow guys she is probably stuck in the traffic some where. Its not like it’s the end of the world. All guys are stood up by girls. Its nothing new enough to make a song about. Ok enough of my personal fiddling with the situation, oh! Come on! I am just trying to cheer you up na! don’t take offence! I know guys who read my Emails and reviews all night. So that is nothing new either. One hour won’t do any harm. Love is all about waiting. Ok I should stop now. The song is obviously a very different one. It made me write so much about it! Liked the theme, I never knew that waiting for one hours does these kind of things to guys! Sorry…guys, will try to be on time with my reviews next time! No sweat! The lyrics are a total jumble. You cannot really call them lyrics, they are more like complains. Never mind. The composition is also a little out of place. Vocals are okayish, drums were good. Guitar work was also satisfactory. OMG! I wrote so much about a rather in significant song! Sorry about that. I cant call this song a list filler. Yet it seems it was rushed into. Not polished properly.
Gets a 6.5 out of 10. for the unvarnished criticism and the absurdity of unfaithfulness that was applied after just one hour of waiting against “Girlkind”. Peace!
Koi Janay Na:
Happy Happy song! Romantic, aggressive, a little over reacting. The worng choice of the genre’. These kind of the songs are not supposed to be so rocking. The ascent and descent of the song is really out of place. Still guiltfully admitting that I liked this song. I don’t have an explanation for liking. Its sweet, and its touchingly cute. A happy guy is always a pleasure. The theme is simple. I love a girl and she is beautiful. Aren’t we all? Hehe! You just have to have the eyes! So true that loves make everything beautiful (don’t believe it). Lyrics are ok. The composition is good. The vocal work is satisfactory. Iffu has a very aggressive approach.
Gets a 6.5 out of 10. no arguments!
Saath Saath:
Another rock top. Another happy song! Finding of true love. The light of love elightening a dull and unhappy song. This song is just so natural thematically. I love it. Lyrics are very good. The discovery, the continuation, the enlightenment. Don’t we all wish to find that person who would make all our problems go away and teach us how to cherish life. No Khanny! it doesn’t have to be Sara! The composition of the song is good. The background vocals are good too. This song is over all a very very feel good song. As light as a feather. Giving a quick uplift to all of us who search and search and in the end are demotivated thinking that w ewould never find true love. We just need to look around cause there is always someone who comes up to us and pull us back on our feet when we are feeling down! And that person my friends is the one who really loves you more than anything. It doesn’t have to be a lovey dovey relation. It can be also between best friends! I have found friends of those sort here. I just want to say! I love them and always will! They know who they are!
Gets an 8.5 out of 10. Thanks for making me realize how much I love my “toli”. Muaaahzzz. This song’s review is dedicated to “My Toli”. Love you guys!
Sochna:
Thinking and thinking and thinking. Ok enough of thinking. A moment or two of real thoughtfullness! Though I don’t know what to think about. Is it my dreams? Is it my goals? I should think about? Like duhhhh!! I surely have dreams and goals and I made them after thinking ofcourse! Anyways! A good motivational song if we ever get inspired to come out of our thoughts and actually do something. Good beat, good lyrics, normal composition. A typical rock song.
Gets a 6.5 out of 10.
