i don't think pak should declare, youhana and akmal have worked hard and performed brilliantly to put the team in this position, and right now these two guys alone are dominating england. let the lead balloon out of size, no need to declare and play into england's hands, just keep out there in the middle and keep the pressure mounting on england. a draw will secure the series, and in style too, with such a big first innings lead on the scorecard.

I'd like to see things from your point of view, but I can't insert my head that far up my a**.

Pakistan need to score that much, so that they don't need to bat on a fifth day wicket. With getting 300 runs they will be safe.

Seeing as there will be only 140 overs left in the two days. (minus the light off course). Pakistan need to bat about 40 overs and then let England play, who were out for 94 overs for first innings. That will mean Pakistan needs to score about 4 runs an over to reach the 300 runs (now the lead is 158 runs). Not that difficult.

Highest target reached in this stadium is 209/5 by England in 1961.

Another 100 runs ...can see Pakistan win the series 2-0!!

well pakistan has played exceptionally well, well tommorow pakistan has to play till lunch and then declare. i think this will give pakistan an enough total to defend themselves

Very well played throughout the day by Pakistan. Only one wicket falling and that too of a night watchman!

These Englishmen always make me laugh. Somehow the wicket didn't respond anymore, while in England's innings it responded very well when 10 wickets for 288 runs.

England win impossible - Fletcher

Duncan Fletcher has admitted England have blown their chance to win the final Test match against Pakistan but set his sights on a draw.

England took one wicket on the third day as Pakistan piled on the runs to lead by 156 with five wickets left.

The England coach said: "If the wicket stays as it is I think our batters are capable of seeing it out. The win's basically impossible at this stage.

"The guys stuck to their task on a wicket that was pretty unresponsive."

Fletcher said England's batsmen were to blame in the first innings when they managed only 288 on a decent batting track.

"We should have scored more and they have put their hands up and admitted we should have got at least 450.

"The wicket has got better since the first day. It's difficult to bowl on. Your margins for error are very very small. If you do get off the margin you find the batters will take advantage of it.

"You have got to give credit to their batters, although the wicket was easy you've still got to bat nicely and show real strength and character and concentration."

Fletcher said one positive note from an otherwise dismal day with Liam Plunkett's bowling.

He dismissed Shoaib Akhtar for 38 and bowled a good line and length.

"It's nice to see a debut like that. We are pleased with his efforts so far," said Fletcher.

"When you reward someone with a cap it's nice to see he comes forward and responds in that manner. He's got a bright future if he shows more improvement."

Great match playedby Pakistan so far....dil kush kar dia Mohammed Yousuf aur Akmal nay...great inningz by both....i dont think Pakistan needz to declare it cuz they already won the first oneso draw wud stil put Pakistan on top tho!..But they shud play for few more hourz n put some good total if they wish to declare...

well pakistan surely has performed very well, i was expecting a 3-0 whitewash to pakistan but boyy the team proved me wrong. we have had a lot of positives frm this series, still i think the match is nt over so lets nt get over confident. england still can comeback in this match if they pick up quick wickets tommorow and dimiss pakistan cheaply.

Pakistan should up the run rate and Yo Yo can join in after he gets his 200. then declare half hour before lunch so they can bowl about 6 overs to them. their batsman will be a little tired and will be a good oppurtunity to strike early. I think the team will go for a win and not be defensive and be happy with a draw. Pakistan has played well and deserve the win and the series 2-0
