Pakistan vs Australia, 2nd Test, Sydney Jan 3-7, 2010
Well, now that the first Test is over, Pakistan must give a long, hard look at their team selection and strategy, and ready to ring in wholesale changes.
1. You never go into a Test with just four bowlers and hope to win.
2. If the batsmen of the opposing team are well-settled, then it sometimes makes sense to bring in part timer bowlers to disrupt the rhythm. Imran Farhat bowled a few overs in the first innings, was getting appreciable turn, but was never brought back again.
3. Imran Farhat has proven yet again that he's useless. But the reality is that since he made a century in New Zealand, we have to put up with him for a while now. Ideally though, Farhat should be dropped and Faisal Iqbal open the innings in his place. Younis should come in at #3.
4. Saeed Ajmal, while very good at restricting the run-flow, didn't seem like a wicket-taking bowler at Test level.
5. Our batsmen need to learn the value of playing with a straight bat.
6. There's no quick fix for our fielding woes. We must learn to live with it.

considering YK wont be there for the 2nd test......
imran farhat made us lose the match....dropped so many catches....again....not perform with the bat....not a bowler...
y not replace him with fawad alam......hes opened before...he can field thousand times better than farhat.....and he can give u the 5th bowling option we missed...
rauf......lol.....dont expect to see him again in whites for pakistan..
so gul replaces him...defo no to sami.
saeed ajmal.....limited over specialist.....another 1 along with gul...

If we keep switching openers, no one will get settled. Give Farhat all this series to keep opening if he fails the other 4 times then sack him.Right now its better if we try the opening for 10 innings. If Fawad fails then back to Farhat and vice versa. Just keep the opening but change the middle order since its not solid.

kaneria and Gul should replace Rauf and Ajmal. Also, probably Misbah should be replaced by Fawad. This will give us the 5th bowling option.

my prediction:
aus bat first: 50 all out
Pak bat second: 960-4
aus second innings: 50 all out.
Pak win by an innings and 860 runs

No the number 3 batsman has been scoring consistently. Misbah has been failing badly, he did score in 1st Innings but he got lucky. A sitter was dropped.

nothing will change even if YK joins for 2nd Test. Its basically decided. Sydney is good for spinners , may be pak should bring kaneria in. btw, i dunno why was he not in 1st test

A sitter of watson and katich was dropped in the first inning..that means aussie should be short of 190 runs..which means pakistan won the test???
