Germany all the way this time. Because they have the biggest depth of all the teams.

looks like he'll be heading to the mls though, so will be great to see a world class defender playing in the US! hopefully he signs with the philadelphia union, we are having a terrible year and need all the help we can get!

Nesta should not leave Milan. They better keep him. He's the Maldini reincarnate. He is the blood and soul of Milan. They already know what happened by not resigning Pirlo. But at the same time I know that Milan is stingy as well, and even at times when they play their best ball they still stay stingy. Sometimes it works well for them too, like picking up Seedorf, Muntari, Inzaghi, Gattuso and even Pirlo back in days. They lost Shevchenko and Kaka similarly. I know one thing that they will not over spend. Even if they lose Nesta, I think they have Nocerino and Antonini to step up. Luca Antonini was really impressive against Barca if you remember.
But I know they will go after cheaper off loads from Juve, Lazio and Inter and make a team from them. This year they have themselves to blame for losing out serie A to Bianconeris, they had it slip away. pretty sloppy stuff.
Nesta I hope he doesn't leave Milan. KPB & Thiago Silva are also important players who should not leave Milan. The Rosenneris have a good squad all they need is recruitment of young strikers. Though Nerazzurris across town also looking to step up game. Massimo Allegri has to face some tough decisions.

ahmad, nesta held a press conference and announced that this was going to be his last year. his contract expires in june and he's said that he's not going to renew, so i think that's the end of his tenure in milan. commentators had suspected this was coming for some time now. he's said himself that he feels he can't keep up with the pace of serie a, and he doesn't want to be a burden on the rest of the team. he's looking for a slower paced league like the mls.
milan still have gattuso, ambrosini, and seedorf but now these are the last of the milan veterans. time to splash the cash and reinforce the squad. also i think milan will struggle to keep silva this summer, i've heard him linked to almost every top team in europe. he's said that he wants to stay, but you never know what can happen. personally i'd love to see him in barcelona.

yup, germany squad depth is scary. they are strong in every single position and have no weaknesses. will be very tough to beat the germans this year, but i'm confident that the spaniards will find a way!

I read the news. He's gone. A very sad day for Milan supporters. One of the best defenders game has seen and one of my very favorites. The Physical Show Nesta & Maldini used to put in Milan defense and for Azzuris will be remembered for ages.
With him gone I think Series A's effervescence of Physical and Defensive play will be missed. Reports are that Gattuso might be headed out too, Zambrotta is injured so I don't know what Rossoneris have in plan. Central Defender is a central piece anchoring the defense in contained style. They have Antonini and Nocerino and they have a job ahead of them to fill those boots.
A storied career, with the Rossoneri he won the Serie A title in 2004 and 2011, two UEFA Champions League titles in 2003 and 2007, and the Club World Cup in 2007. He also captained Lazio to serie a win in 2000.
He was also in the side that lost the Champions League final in 2005.

villa and puyol both out of spains squad for the euros. huge problem for spain now. torres is terribly out of form, so probably llorente/soldado will lead the line with mata and silva in behind them. pretty good back up options but spain will definitely miss villa. as good as he is for barca, he's twice as good for the spanish NT.

Italy vs Spain on Sunday in their opening Group C match. A very difficult task but I have trust in Azzurri, hope they'll come through good. Though historically they aren't great starters at big championships. Also marred by horrific match fixing scandal, I hope Italian side will draw some inspiration to do good in the tournament.
The last time Italian soccer was rocked by nefarious activities was in the summer of 2006 with the Calciopoli scandal that saw several top club teams sanctioned for influencing referees. Not only did Italy go on to compete in that summer's World Cup, but the Azzurri won the whole thing thanks to a dramatic penalty shootout victory over France in the final.
Italian Football Federation has also considered pulling off the team from the tournament for the good of football. Bosnia-Herzegovina, the highest ranked of the four teams that lost in last year's qualification playoffs, would have been offered the opportunity to come in as a late replacement.
FORZA ITALIA!!!
