Barber in Okara has eyes, lips, tongue cut out over 'illicit relationship'
LAHORE: A barber in Okara district was left fighting for his life after being horrifically mutilated over a relationship with a married woman from an influential local family, police said Thursday.
Officers said Yousaf Khan, 32, was kidnapped by seven members of a landowning family who gouged his eyes out with a knife before cutting off his ears, nose, lips and tongue.
The bloody incident took place in Mirzapur village in Okara district, around 120 kilometres east of Lahore.
“Yousaf Khan was blamed for an illicit relationship with a woman. We have arrested five culprits,” Khaliq Riaz, a police officer involved in the investigation, told AFP by telephone.
Riaz said he hoped a man and a woman, also involved in the grisly incident would soon be arrested.
“The family said they had several times warned Yousaf over the illicit relations and they were forced to take this extreme step to punish the barber,” Riaz said.
Sanaullah, an officer in the district police chief’s office who goes by only one name, confirmed the incident and arrests.
Khan was later taken to a local hospital where doctors were battling to save his life, police said.

where in quran or hadith it says to cut off peoples eyes lips tongue and nose? plz someone show me where it says this? our country is full of animals and we are a violent and intolerant bunch. seems like each of us has the devil lurking inside, all we need is an opportunity to unleash it. for some it is a mentally retarded girl ripping pages of quran, for others it is someone having an illicit relationship. but people talk about change in pakistan, how can we change this mentality? well let me make one thing very clear. the change cannot come from government, from politicians, or from the outside. the problem in pakistan is that the VAST MAJORITY of people are bloodthirsty intolerant and vicious people just waiting for a spark to be lit so they can unleash their fury. until each and every one of us combats this for ourselves, there is no chance that we can change the trend that our nation is heading in.

what strikes me as particularly unislamic is that if the same influential family's young 'playas' had had an illegal, coerced, illicit relationship with a married woman from the barbers family...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING would have been done....btw kufr ki hukumat chal sakti hai...na insafi ki nahi..

Not everything points to Islam. Maybe these people just took revenge. Thora Kudha ka kooof rako. Lack of education is the reason here, they are not educated.

If these MF's believe in this so much then I would like to see em go after some rich people. Lets' see who has the balls to follow what they believe? We all know what our politicians and some other well off people do so why not target them for a change. Any takers? I didn't think so
It hurts me when I read about such acts.
May Allah help us all.

You think they did this in the name of Islam? There from a village, uneducated and most likely filthy poor with no sense. Which is why this happen. People post these sorry story from remote villages and say look this is what islam teaches them. Get a life. There was this women in the US who chopped her sons neck off because she was on drugs. Why aren't you people talking about that. Story like this happen everyday. You people are relentless in making Islam look bad. Not everyone does things for Islam.

My question, Why was the barber punished and not the lady ! ?
Cut of her ears too and eyes too!
The problem is Aurat ki ghalti hoti hai ! If a woman doesn't want a realtion she won't have it by any means.! I would blame the women here.-_-

its not about islam its about a growing trend of intolerance and mob justice in pakistan. people are not afraid of the law, they take matters into their own hands. and not only that, they commit violent, henious crimes, and then expect to get away with it. it has nothing to do with islam, it has to do with the level of frustration in our society. now there are other issues, like blashphemy law, which are very much related to how islam is practiced and forced in pakistani society. but this issue does not have to do with religion, it has to do with frustration and lack of law and order. basically all things you need to feel safe at home are absent in pakistan. at any time anyone can take someones life or commit violent crimes. its happening in every city, in every province. it's being done by rich people and by poor people, by educated and uneducated people alike. thats the point i am making, pakistanis have this inner demon inside them, just waiting to come out and do awful things, all they need is a spark. this is a very dangerous trend, and it needs to be addressed on an individual level. otherwise, this country is on the brink of a civil war.

why this this always your bloody defense for every single thing? am i talking about other countries? no. i'm talking about pakistan. i don't give two craps what happens in other countries. i'm a pakistani, i'm interested in making my country a better and more tolerant place. this is a big problem facing pakistan, and it has to be dealt with. yes it is happening in other countries also, i never said it wasn't, but we are talking about pakistan here. when we talk about voter fraud in pakistan, does that somehow mean that it doesn't happen elsewhere? no! but problems happening in pakistan are being identified by paistanis for the betterment of pakistani society, but you always have issues with people pointing that out and are quick to remind everyone that it's not only pakistan that has issues. great. but we do have issues, that's what is being pointed out!

For an educated person you really sometimes talk like some moron from TTP.

you can deny it all you want, but this is what we have become. over the last few years, we've seen all sorts of people take justice into their own hands and commit horrible crimes. i give you example of faisal shehzad, pakistani american who was successful but still got tempted to launch bomb in nyc. there were sialkot brothers brutally murdered while huge mob cheered on the assailants and did not help innocent people. taseer was murdered by his own body guard. i'm not even going to go into blashphemy where innocent people get assaulted on a seemingly daily basis. so many examples of vigilante justice being conducted, and not just by poor people, but by ordnary people just waiting for a chance to unleash all their frustrations. show me other countries where such crimes are happening on a daily basis, in all regions of the country, by people from all walks of life not just one group. show me and i'll retract my statement that pakistanis have an inner deamon.
