Two suspected suicide blasts have killed at least 15 people and injured others in the Pakistani garrison city of Rawalpindi, officials say.

One explosion took place on a bus and the other at an army checkpoint, according to media reports.

In one incident on Saturday, a bomber in a car detonated explosives at an army checkpoint outside the Pakistani army's general headquarters in Rawalpindi, army spokesman Major-General Waheed Arshad said.

Its sad , what was done was very wrong and sad. It should be condemnable to all.

I dont believe a suicide bombing has much to do with the so called "Terror Nawaz, who sends shrills down Musharaff's spine".

This is the pathetic state of mentallity some ppl hold today in Pakistan.

What happened was wrong and barbaric at least. Condemn what happened and those behind it should be punished.

Bringing petty politics in everything is just what this country does not need.

I fail to see bombings in the heart of Pakistan's security establishment, suggesting weakness on the establishments hands would influence coming of nit wit politians like Nawaz Sharif.

The sole purpose of this tragic event was to kill. It is sad and deplorable. Do remember this is the 25+ bombing this year alone. Takloo is only coming back for the second time.

This sure is an act by the agencies. If you follow the details, it always happens whenever there is any major event. NS (ex-ganju) could have committed his political death by now only if Mush hasn’t reacted stupidly, same is the case with BB. Remember he took plane to meet her and again now he went to Saudi Arabia to stop NS.

The area around these camps is very heavily guarded these days. Each and every car being checked. If you talk to people in Pakistan they will tell you that there is always a security lapse before every incident, I mean police and other law enforcement agencies are removed for a while and then it all happens. Same is the case with the killing of a Major in Lal Masjid, the whole area was heavily guarded at that time but it all happened, by killing there own officer grounds were created for a full scale action, just check with the people there, especially in G-6 area of Islamabad and you will get all those facts, whatever actually happened.

It might be very hard to imagine by any patriotic and concerned citizen that how come agencies can kill their own people but lust for power is very cruel and the history tells us that anything is possible, not only in Pakistan but in entire world. Remember US ambassador was killed alongwith Zia, they sacrificed own man to achieve certain objects.
For Pak Army billions of billions are at stake and they will make sure not to loose control of power in the country. They are doing this for the last 60 years and only God knows for how long.

both of these places are in pindi, and the ghq attack was on the old secratariat building in sadar . couldnt hear the faizabad one but the GHQ blast was a damn loud one, it shook teh window of my room and i immediately knew thats the dictator's excuse for emergency blown up ..cant believe only 2 people died in the ghq attack simply because the bang was LOUD and i heard it myself, was certainly louder than that RA bazar blast which sounded like a dull thud even though that place isnt even half a Km from where i live..also the images dawn news is showing are of the old ghq in sadar and its a pretty crowded area ..

Every incident is the security lapse. I fail to understand how any one could stop suicide bombers like the way you suggest. These arnt ppl who just wake up and decide to blow things up. They are trained vigourously and brainwashed like hell to the condition and extent of no return.

If stopping suicide bombers was so easy than the Isrealis would have done it a long long time ago.

There is no security agency pvt or govt which could provide security like the escapades BB took in karachi. You cannot cover open spaces distancing over many many kilometers, without closing down areas.

A bomb blast only weakens a govts ability. By no means does Nawaz to lose anything with this, rather its a point which opposition parties would love to jump too.

Assumption are rich out there, many including personally me think that India and its security agencies are trying to further destabilze the current situation. A strong nuclear Pakistan is a threat to many nations, unfortunatly pakistani leaders like BB and Nawaz want to come back with their agenda.

Blaming each other isnt the way forward.

but point here is not that… suicide bombing was a rarity in Pakistan... it all gained momentum when Mush lost his grip on the authority after the fiasco of firing CJ. Agencies started up the Lal Masjid drama only to divert the attention from other happenings and to show the world that Mush is the only choice for the west. He is very much aware that if his utility expires than the west will be the first to dump him. Remember other tyrant Zia… he fissured in thin air after Russia withdrew from Afghanistan.

Trained and brainwashed fanatics are easily available to the agencies. Mush is master of this game. Just go through his history, he used same men in Gilgit in the late 80s to cope with the local unrest, armed men from FATA and Afghans were imported in that area and a mass massacre was carried out by him. In fact his name also echoed in the famous conspiracy case against BB when Maj. Gen Zaheer Islam, Brig. Mustansar tried to topple the govt. of BB in the name of Islam they were using the same brainwashed lot for this purpose. Lt. Gen Nasir came to Mush rescue at that time. Again he used these men, covertly in Kargil. For agencies finding these kinds of people is not at all impossible.
