Three children suffering from heart disease have finally acquired their India visas and will head to Nangpur city of Maharashtra in India.

Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro handed over their visa letters and passports at the Sindh Assembly on Thursday.

The children Mariam, 8, Bisharat, 14, and Riaz Hussain,13, have been suffering from a congenital heart defect (hole in the heart). Rotary International has announced it would bear all their expenses. The children belong to Khairpur Mirs, Mirpurkhas and Malir.

Aziz Memon, a representative of Rotary International, and MPA Humera Alwani took the children to the speaker’s chamber where they briefed the media. Khuhro said that the government has also sent applications for fourteen other children who also need visas.

Memon said that rotary international financially helps children suffering from heart diseases and strives to establish a 500-bed hospital in Karachi.

since there are multiple people who are quick to post stories mocking aman ki asha at every opportunity, i thought i'd start leveling the playing field and portraying the other side. good for the indian doctors who are agreeing to do these surgeries and give a new life to these pakistani children. and thank you rotary international for coordinating these efforts! pediatric cardiothoracic surgery is among the most complicated surgeries performed, at our hospital here at hershey the senior peds CT surgeon earns a higher salary than our ceo if you can believe it! it's extraordinary complex stuff, even their simple cases require great finesse and take a lot of time, so this is a wonderful gesture from the indian healthcare community. hopefully we see more of these cases, and i hope pakistani physicians also return the favor and provide care for indian children struggling to find care across the border.
