ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday claimed that his hospital, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre was being audited regularly and allegations leveled by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) were baseless, DawnNews reported.
Earlier today, Khawaja Asif, leader of the PML-N accused Khan of gambling 12.5 million dollars in the real-estate abroad.
Asif, while addressing a press conference in Islamabad, had handed out hard copies of “evidence” against Khan’s investments. Responding to these accusation, Khan said “Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital is not my personal hospital; 75 per cent of the patients here are poor Pakistanis.”
By defaming the hospital, Asif has caused trouble for many poor Pakistanis who receive free treatment at the hospital, Khan said.
“It is the only free cancer hospital in the country and the PML-N should have thought before doing such thing,” he added.
The PTI Chief claimed that the PML-N has started blame game at this time of the year because it was Ramazan and the hospital receives hefty donations during this month.
Khan said “In 1997, the PML-N created similar doubts and donations stopped coming in and I had to tour all over the world for fundraising for the hospital,” he said.
He said that 65 per cent of the funds for the hospital are collected from Pakistan and the rest from other countries.
Overseas Pakistanis contribute to the hospital donation in an account which is managed by the hospital management by creating an endowment fund, Khan said.
He said that the PML-N can harm Pakistan to any extent just to come to power.
The PTI Chief said that he had filed a case against PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi which was in process in the courts.
He claimed that the PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif and his family possess billions of rupees in foreign banks and Sharif himself was involved in money laundering.
Khan challenged “If I am wrong, then Sharif should take me to the courts… I will take him to the court for false allegations against Shaukat Khanum hospital.”

No, this is good. Now it will become more clearer to the awaam how transparent and honest an institution like shaukaat khanum is. And this would also further expose PML-N's lies and propaganda against Imran Khan.
In this case it is neccessary and a matter of urgency that Imran khan explains and clarifies to the honest and hardworking awaam of pakistan who donate money for this hospital.
however apart from this example I completly agree with Da'ee Moulana Tariq Jameel.
In this example loss is of hospital and the poor people who get free treatment, not Imran Khan. So hence the reply was important.

Yeh PML-N ka purana wateera raha hai.
I personally don't think this kind of dirt slinging politics works anymore because there ain't no saints out there. I have closely monitored PPP's tenure and I can tell that they let the others do the dirt slinging and it didn't affect them a single bit. Perhaps because Awaam doesn't buy that crap anymore. Even in U.S. 2008, Obama didn't do the negative campaigning against Hillary and McCain as much as he was targeted by them and it helped him.
You are very right that IK doesn't need to reply, and he shouldn't. He should only reply if the question is brought up by his own party people. The only thing I want Imran to do is o bring more of his people in media to clarify his party policy on economy and social issues. I hear a lot that CHANGE will happen in 9 days, but no concrete solution has been explained so far by PTI. I think it's time for them to take the next step. A positive thing that happened was the appointment of Fakhruddin G Ibrahim as election commissioner. He's a credible guy and I hope he'll do whatever he can to minimize the corruption in election, hoping that it will help PTI.

Ik had to answer and I was glad to see full PTI force out on all channels answering this, public is fickle any silence would have been construted as admission of guilt, just read comments on ET and pkpol to get an idea (anti-IK comments). Such a disgraceful act, I am not a fan of IK and have repeatedly said have some issues with his policies but target him instead of targetting SKMH for God sake how low can u go. But then why am surprised they did same crap with Benazir

this is why i said earlier that anyone who physically does not go and vote for pti this election is either an idiot or treasonous. i understand rigging occurs and that is out of people's control. but if people physically go and vote for pml-n and ppp, they should get a direct admit to a psych ward.

ur mistaken then, in parlimentary politics it doesn't matter how unpopular zardari is, i would love to see how many % of voters will vote for each party.
A very good article by Saleem Safi but PTI once again showing they really don't mind if they don't make the govt next election.
