When musharraf was in charge, every few months he would come on national TV and address the country about current and future plans. I used to watch these and i was always impressed by them. Some of you will undoubtedly argue that it was all for show, or that he was just lying in these speeches. But you have to admit that you never felt like Musharraf was out of control. He always had a plan, and he kept the nation informed as he was leading. Granted his last 2 years fell apart, and he did lose control at that point. But between 1999-2007 he was seen regularly on national tv, standing up for his policies, and explaining his plans. My question is - Has zardari done this even once? When was the last time he did a speech on national tv, and what did he say in it? anyone have clips? and why the hell won't he address the nation now in time of turmoil and distress?

We have parlimentary democracy and 8th amendment have been abolished, PM is incharge of country and President is head of state and symbol of federalism. Seriously he addresses every year to both chambers of parliment as required under constitution. The president can't come on tv and address nation as PM is incharge, Gillani came when was needed and so did ashraf.

Mushy couldn't because he couldn't deal with parlimentarians he violated the laws all his tenure except once when he addressed the parliment, every subsquent year he was too fucking coward to come to the parliment.

Also under parlimentary system the PM is answerable to parliment and gives regular answers in parliment, Gilani did it by speaking to parliment several times, raja rental too bz but proper forum would be parliment not TV.

Thats Zardari you are talking about, the guy who probably sleeps with his thumb up his ass!
I don't think its under his capability to do such a intellactual thing or something that doesn't show much profit :P
