"imran Khan" Visit To "sawabi" And "buner" Expected On Thursday
Wednesday, May 06, 2009
By Muhammad Farooq
SWABI: The officials of the district administration said on Tuesday that 2,260 displaced families had so far arrived here from Buner district and got them registered with the administration.
Thousands of locals have vacated their houses for the IDPs and their registration has been started, the officials said. Pulil Khan, a social welfare officer, said that they were registering the families who opted to stay in different regions of the district with their relatives or friends.
Another officer admitted that the number of IDPs, staying with their friends or relatives is much high than those opted to stay in government camps in Yar Hussain.
Pulil said, “We have so far registered 2,040 families and their number is increasing. We are determined to accelerate our registration process because only the registered people are authorised to get the foodstuff and other incentives from the offices of the World Food Programme and Sarhad Rural Support Programme located at Kunda Mor on Swabi-Jehangira road.”
Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf provincial president Asad Qaisar has said that party chairman Imran Khan would visit the IDPs camps in district Swabi tomorrow (Thursday) and he (Imran) has also planned to visit Buner.
He said that Imran Khan would meet the IDPs and the PTI would help the displaced persons from Buner in every possible way.The dwellers of Tarakai village in Swabi have vacated the entire town to accommodate IDPs coming from Buner after 250 more families arrived on Tuesday.

Chalo thats gud. If Imran Khan can help these people in any way possible that would be really something. He did a great job with his Hospital in Lahore. I hope he doesnt politicise this. This way he will definatly gain political mileage for a noble cause.
Swabi is okay, i doubt he will be able to go to Buner.

Allah talah ne Kilyas ki dil ki bharn lias su. Who could forget his 'how about visiting Buner instead of Karachi' demand for Imran Khan.
Although, Imran has no reservation and did not express any criticism for the current operation, but after his visit we would be expecting him constanly telling the goverment to do something about the displaced people, avoid creating another 'lost generation', save and listen to these people before the bad guys reaches out to them. Now I don't see anything wrong with this but sadly some morons will start with their whining 'I will support Imran, if he barks Talibans and just Talibans more often'. His symapthy for war torn 'pakhtoons' will be regarded as his support for Talibans by few confused individuals.

You are guilty of the same conscience except the ethnic group is changed.
Funny thing that you will not be allowed in the first place in Manra's Pakistan!

First of all Imran Khan is no saint. Secondly people have a right to express their views about a certain politician, without the thought of being persecuted for it. Its a free world and people can have a difference of opinions. Its being fixated with some personalities that isnt correct.
So if ppl suggest Imran Khan doesnt come down on the taliban or why he doesnt do whatever he wants to. They are pefectly within their rights.
Why is it if someone does something, that we immediately have to compare and hit someone under the belt just for the sake of it?

Being fixated with 'one view' or one stubborn demand isn't correct either. Having to listen to the same old bickering by same old people for the same old dude is indeed quite annoying. I mean come on, there's gotta be a break.
True, Imran is not a saint, and those who expect his every word and every action to hit 'on the dot perfection' should be the first ones to not only admit this but always keep this in their mind.

Military operation no solution for Swat: Imran Khan
SWABI: The NWFP government should keep its options open for talks with the Swat Taliban, Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran khan said Thursday.
Speaking at a news conference in Swabi, Khan said a military operation is not the solution to the problem in Swat.
He said the NWFP government should negotiate with the Swat Taliban to restore peace in the region.
He blamed the government for succumbing to US pressure and conductiong an operation in Buner and its surrounding areas.
Imran suggested that an All Parties Conference should be convened and political forces should be taken into confidence for resolving the matters peacefully.
He also shunned any possibilities of Taliban taking over the country.
About his visit to Karachi, Imran made clear that no one can stop him from entering the metropolis.
He also maintained that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief wants conflict between groups in Karachi.

^^ I came up with the conclusion that he is a "hard core" pacifist...which is not supposed to be a good thing if you are a 'politican'.
Btw, I saw him live giving a similar interview, to me it didn't seem as if he is really against this operation in fact for a moment I was very pleased that he was not launching any direct criticism for these operations. Trust me, even the host seemed quite surprised with answer and hinted for its repetition.

I have the utmost respect for Imran. But he is wrong on this one. You can't talk to these barbaric creatures who only want you to live life according to their interpretation. It was the Talibans who violated the peace deal and not the govt. The incompetent Mulana Sufi couldn't get the deal implemented, instead he started blaming the govt.
This operation is going to be quite costly since there is going to be loads of bloodshed. Taliban so cowards who use humans as shield. The military should hit them hard this time.
