I am not talking about the people, in Azad Kashmir, if you go by that then there people in Pak wants to be independent so that does not mean that you give "independence" to every province that those people live in.

How do you recognise the Azad Kashmir? Is it a country? or a province of Pak? or what...

Its disputed territory, Azad Kashmir has its own administration though, and has support from Pakistan ofcourse.

Well the Azad Kashmir should not be a disputed as it is azad rite? Every state has has it's own admistration, since I haen't read too much on the status of Azad kashmir, please enlight me.

AFAIK, PoK or Azad Kashmir is fully controlled by Pak as Pak wants rest of Kasmir. So when you say Azad Kashmir is it an Independent from all or Independent from India.

Azad Kashmiris, every single one i have come across are very staunchly Pakistani. They consider Kashmir as a part of Pakistan. All the more baffling why Azad Kashmir hasnt already been given a status of a province because everyone treats it like so.

I did not meet many Kashmirs except for one while studying engineering in Mumbai. He was quite happy to be with India.... well, i guess eveyone has their opinion.

i would say that India should hold a free and fair Plebiscite in Kashmir if that's what they want.

So just hypothetically, if the result of plebiscite favors India, what would be your or in general Pakistanis reaction?

firstly india wont allow a plebscite to happen, because if it wanted to would have happened by now. UN has tried many a times but india has refused a plebscite and argued for a bilateral talk instead.

if a plebiscite does happen and Kashmiris chose their fate to be tied to India, then so be it. who are we to force them be part of a country they dont want to be a part of?

The bigger question is will either country part of with their sectors after such a plebiscite which seems a non-starter anyway?

If pakistanis are 'akhrots' and emotional then indians are equally narrow-minded which is why india will never become a superpower like China no matter how much the western media tries to give us that impression and what indian analysts think.

I am still laughing at what i heard that some indian economists think that a downturn in indian economy will severely affect america!

The indo-pak parity that has been lost has made indians think that they are some super power which is hardly the case. Where is india in the scale of biggest economies in the world? At least, chinese don't have that syndrome yet..

^^ that was one of the UN requirements that the armies would be replaced by UN peace keepers untill a plebiscite has taken place.


and Pakistan agreed to it, India didnt. and now India has the largest millitary to civillian ratio in the world, inside occupied Kashmir.

From what I read was that both states had to remove a bulk of its troops and india would leave some in there to help conduct a plebiscite that would decide the future. It was india that took the matter to the UN but i wonder why didn't Pakistan do a "ceasefire" when it was in an advantageous position in 1948 with right in sight of Poonch, leh etc.
