A5 is a Close Air Support aircraft. Its tasked with providing cover to the formations on the field. Even during the 80's it was the F16 that was tasked with delivering tactical nukes due to its superior endurance and A2G capabilities.

Anyways, i have nothing to add as i have already made it clear that Pakistan relies on its ballistic missiles to deliver the nukes and not its aircrafts. Maybe on tactical level but using nukes on tactical level will lead to full blown nuke exchange.

.. And I ask you where and how did A-5 become what it is? So you do agree it is a rebadged MiG-19 aka farmer.

Perhaps now F16 might share that role as PAF right now has 54 F-16s (actual numbers vary due to MLU etc) but in the past, 30 f-16s and that too under embargo would mean PAF wouldn't risk its planes for a suicide mission. Though that is another issue that Pakistan might not be that successful penetrating India even though we are better equipped with JF-17s.

It is definitely based on the design of the F6 but their requirements are completely different. The F6 was an Air Defence Fighter while the A5 is designed for Close Air Support. But i fail to understand what your point is?

Even though we had limited numbers of the F16's, it was the only fighter that was capable of carrying out a long range strike mission inside India. Unfortunately the Mirage's hadn't gone through the ROSE Upgrade and lacked the endurance that was needed to carry out those strikes, this is why Pakistan had no choice but to use the F16's for those strikes.

PAF can penetrate the Indian airspace but only for limited strike missions, we lack the strength that is needed to achieve complete air dominance in the Indian skies. This is why Pakistan has invested heavily in their Missile Technology because they ensure strikes inside India of our choosing.

Quality is not on Pakistan's side either with india fielding MKIs, MiG-29s and Mirages which are all newer and capable platforms. Lets see how the 126 jet order comes through.

Hahaha Yes i know what they have and PAF knows what they have, what they have does not changes the game. PAF certainly has the capability to defend itself against these planes and if the modernization keeps going as envisioned, in the future PAF will continue to maintain its deterrent against India. Its much easier to deny air supremacy than controlling the skies.
