ATTOCK: Militants attacked Pakistan Air Force Kamra Airbase in Attock in the early hours of Thursday, Express News has reported.
According to sources, the militants stormed the base from Pind Salman Makhan.

AFP reports that witnesses have said they could hear gun and rocket fire coming from the facility, which contains a number of aircraft factories.
5:00am
Express News reports that nine militants wearing suicide vets had attacked the airbase around 2am. The militants had crossed three check posts and were also reported to be wearing army uniforms.
Three squadrons present at the airbase were targeted.
Aircraft present at the base are being shifted to the hangers.
4:55am
A Pakistan Army squad has arrived at the base to take part in the operation.
The attack is similar to that on the Karachi navy airbase.
4:45am
It was an organized attack and firing from both sides is continuing.
The army has been called in to control the situation. The militants also hurled hand grenades, sources added.
Kamra is an airbase where assembling of the JF-17 is carried out.
Sources further said the militants failed to reach the aircrafts due to prompt action of the security forces.
Security forces have cordoned off the area after the attack.

I wold still courtmartial base commander and relevent security personal, there was clear intelligence report not even a week ago warning abt attack, how the heck they were even able to do it.

Well ya , I think I read somehwere the attackers were dressed up as the army!
So probably the attack was very well planned, still no excuse. Investigation should be conducted.

Until Pakistan's religious schools and leaders keep sympathizing with these Talibans, this will continue to happen. Why I don't see open condemnation and vehement protest, the DHARNAs and LONG MARCHES against these outfits by JUI, JI, PTI, DPC and all those rest. Those who criticize liberals should answer me that when did liberals actually ever threatened the state with any action? You always have problem with open media, minority rights and religious freedom, please explain me when will you show due concern about attack on state and internal threat on it's stability. It should be pretty clear to differentiate who the terrorists are and who are their supporters. Still if anyone has an iota of sympathizing sentiment for them, I don't consider them loyal to the state. This goes to the SC of Pakistan as well who very conveniently lay hands off from their responsibility of freeing terrorist so that they can come and attack us. Shame on them, so much for being the State loyalists. Keep Vindicating Malik Ishaq and this will continue to happen.

have been calling for this for YEARS, but sadly i don't think it will ever happen. it will be seen as a direct attack on islam, and in a country where even veiled psuedoinsults are liable to be punished by getting lynched, nobody is going to take that risk until a more tolerant climate is created. it has to start from the imam's themselves, because they have the power to reach most people. but sadly anytime i have attended a qudhba in pakistan, i've yet to hear one imam directly condemn terrorism forecfully and wholeheartedly. perhaps he's also scared that doing so will incite the people in the masjid to rise up against him? who knows, all i know is that we've created a monster in pakistan in the disguise of islam, and i'm not quite sure how we can contain it now

I have lost all hope of anything positive to gain from negotiating with them. I disagreed with Musharraf's policy on attacking them, but seems like he was right. They need to be Gassed in chambers...that's the only way to set rule straight for everyone.
