Ms. Popa2u, how many terrorists has the Gov. of Pakistan nabbed in the last 4 days of emergency? How many terrorists hideouts were attacked by Pakistan Army? Is Baithullah Mahsud dead? Is TNSM removed from the face of the earth?
All your beloved government is doing is attacking civilians for the lust of power and that is it.

What history have you read? Could you name a few books?
Anyway I fed up debating with teen age intellectuals. Who is your "US" and why does your "US" start whining during a civilian govt about corruption bankruptcy and maladministration. Grow up or may be wake up and smell the coffee.
Anyways I hope you are right and I am wrong!!!!!

US is the current civilian youth of Pakistan that is going to make sure that the likes of Gen. Ayub, Yahya, Zia and Musharraf will never be able to hold the reigns of power in Pakistan ever again. We've already smelled the coffee and know what has destroyed our country.

what has destroyed my country is immature youth following Bhutto in the 60's when we were economically and financially on the right path.
What has destroyed my country is foolish youth falling for Mujib's rhetoric. No wonder Bangladesh is a super power now, all their problems were caused by west pakistan.
What destroyed my country was youth showing their immaturity once again in 1977 against Bhutto's democratically elected govt.
This small group of youth who think they are statesmen like Churchill and thinkers like Karl Marx, if you ask them a few questions about the history or to name a few writers you find them thunderstruck. Yes now the reigns of power would be with Zardaris and Sharrifs. And then this youth would enjoy being violated every single day. For all you can do is cause mayhem, you have no control over who would come in power as a result of this mayhem.

Yes they should learn from military men to give into status quo and resign into the hands of military dictators. I am glad that our predecessors were like us and didn't give into status quo, else we'll still be a part of united India. Why do we even bother discussing this issue anymore? You know what my stance is and I know about yours, it's not as if either of us will be able to convince the other.

I didn't choose Gen. Musharraf to rule me, so why should I bear the burden of his despotic rule?

Objective - 3 - Anti Terrorist Operation SWAT - Achieved!
Quote:
MINGORA: Pro-Taliban militants loyal to rebel cleric Maulana Fazlullah took control of a police station, paramilitary force camp and other government buildings in Kalam on Wednesday, extending their hold over the Swat Valley, officials and witnesses said.
Out of the eight tehsils in Swat district, the militants are now in control of six – Kabal, Matta, Khawazakhela, Charbagh, Maydan and Kalam. According to Online, the militants have appointed officials in the towns they control and seized government and NGO vehicles.
Dozens of paramilitary troops and police surrendered their weapons to the militants and retreated from Kalam early on Wednesday, a police official told AFP. Before taking Kalam, the militants captured the town of Bahrain, having seized Madyan later Tuesday, officials and residents said. Local residents said a jirga of elders later pledged to support the militants if they agreed to leave the town. “We did this because we feared gunship helicopters will also pound our areas if the militants stayed in control,” said local elder Hameed Kalami. “We asked the Taliban to leave Kalam and they granted our request.”

More details:
Quote:
PESHAWAR: Militants have seized more than two-thirds of Kalam in the Swat valley, police and residents said on Wednesday. Dozens of paramilitary troops and police surrendered their weapons to militants and retreated from Kalam early on Wednesday, a police official said.
Announcements about the advance were made on a pirate FM radio station run by Mullah Fazlullah, as militants hoisted their party flag on police stations and government buildings. Before taking Kalam, they captured the town of Bahrain, a strategic town poised over the raging Swat river, having seized the town of Madyan on Tuesday, officials and residents said.
"There was no fighting, the police had already vacated their post in Bahrain, and later retreated to Kalam when they came to know the militants were heading towards their police station," the police official said.
But Fazlullah's aide, Maulana Shah Dauran, said in a radio address that militants also took control of a paramilitary base in Kalam manned by a platoon. Some 40 Frontier Corps soldiers had left the paramilitary base before the militants arrived, residents said.
They said some 150 militants were roaming through Kalam, hoisting their black and white flags on key government buildings. One flag stood atop a state guesthouse for important visitors, they added.
There was no comment from the administration in Mingora, the main town in Swat, and top officials in Peshawar. An official privately admitted that the militants were in control of around 70 per cent of the valley's 94km stretch from Sangota to Kalam. The government's hold was confined to Mingora and the nearby town of Saidu Sharif, the official added.
