felix achievement should be on news. news channels are business, they are not their for social works.

- if they do show how many people are getting killed. the first thing i hear is "geo news sey live exclusive footage"
- in Pakistan news all you see is people dying or politicians fighting like dogs and cats.
- politicians are uneducated. literacy rate in pakistan are low. what do you expect? you are bound to see things like that.

BTW what the killing has to do with Media? is media doing the killing? This statement is not made by media, its made in SC by AG of Sindh. So why you all going after media? The news channel posted this news so whats the problem?

Media has sections entertainment, news, etc etc, you don't want to watch or read abt entertainment then don't stay on subject you like.

Media is bussiness everywhere in the world to say it only happens in pak is crap, neither it has to do anything with literacy rate or education. When Intifada was going on and Israel was killing the indiscrimnatly the dominant news in north american channels were dolphins trapped. They ignored it completly, I am sure the literacy rate of american is better then Pakistanis.

cyborg only cares about foreign countries when he's using them as an example to justify problems that exist in pakistan

in all seriousness though, i agree with the second part of his post, killings in karacih have nothing to do with the media, literacy, or any foreign powers. the numbers are apalling, and shows just how cheap human life has become. we've lost 2000 pakistanis in less than a year, and few of us barely take notice. can you imagine 2000 americans dying due to conflict, or 2000 brits dying due to conflict, and what the reaction in the country would be? we need first and foremost to care about pakistani lives and not simply brush it off or make excuses for it. 2000 karachiites losing their lives is nothing short of disgusting.

anyways back on topic,if you have society with high literacy rate. a lot of things can change. the political system can change, people will have a voice against tyrants. inventions, innovations.
low literacy rate means people get brain wash easily.
people will have ability to differentiate right from wrong.
instead of working in gutter they can say they have a purpose in life.

Wrong on all counts.

Karachi has no problem with literacy, raising voice against tyranny etc etc. It is simply under mafia control, be it politica, land grabbing or just criminal. There is no problem with brain washing the literate. I can quote examples after examples of how literates could easily be brainwashed both inside pakistan and outside pakistan.

Killings in karachi are mostly targeted killing i.e one group tragets another. So all your arguments are invalid because all political groups supposedly are so educated and of coz the party that boast to have the most educated in its cadre then any other one.

Lastly, the example of intifada was a random example to highlight media short comings everywhere, didn't know would hurt the liberals feelings so much, which just makes it all the better. Next time want to debate try understanding what is an "example" what is "fact" and what is "relevent"

Adil, don't gangs kill a lot of people in inner cities here? CNN had a bit on Chicago this summer where mostly black kids are getting killed in gang crossfire, but I haven't seen much a do about the situation. Considering it is Pakistan (no care for life...) and that PPP is in power, expect the American numbers to be at least X1000.

Today hearing shows the incompetence of police.

1 - IGP sindh stated law and order situation has actually gotten better, to which one judge asked if its so good why he driving around with such large police escort?

2 - The govt officials showed up with police escorts comprising SHO's. I mean FFS what an SHO is doing escorting these fuckers, and court rightly sent thier asses back saying go fucking do ur duty in police stations instead of escorting these fuckers.

I think it was 2003 he posted it and 10 yrs later nothing is been done.

IMO, Police reform is the most urgent thing pak needed, to combat every day law and order to terrorism, without effective police and judicial reform nothing gonna happen.
