LAHORE: Following his decision that the PML-N will participate in the polls, Nawaz Sharif Tuesday announced plans to lead a long march to Islamabad to back the deposed judges.
Talking to editors of the print and electronic media here at his residence, Nawaz said he will be accompanied by representatives of the civil society.
He said that dictatorship would have benefited had the PML (N) decided not to contest the elections.
The former prime minister said the PPP, however, would now benefit, as the PML-Q's vote bank would now be divided.
He said that his party's manifesto revolves around only one point and that is a free judiciary.
Nawaz said if Benazir agrees with the PLM-N to go for a boycott, the upcoming polls would hold no meaning without the two parties.
Nawaz Sharif is also expected to address public meetings in Daska, Pasrur, and Sialkot tomorrow.
