I don't totally agree with rehman malik but i know where he is coming from, but your comparison of bombs and food posioning is appalling.

A threat is a threat, both the thing could lead to a lot of deaths.
Its not about comparison its about making a point. I don't think this is by any means a way to deal with these threats. You can not simply close down the entire countries network cuz of it.

Millions of rupees are lost this way. This is totally not acceptable, they should find another way to deal with it. whats the point of having a mobile phone when you can not use it on any big occasion ? Every eid, national day, defense day, any other function it gets closed why not aswell just throw it away ! ?

this is stupid....PPP govt....gas prices ka masla...gas band kardo, bijli nai loadshedding kardo...this has more to do with propping up PTCL than not triggering mobile bomb devices...
a mobile phone is not the only available technology to trigger IEDs....

From where I see, we had more then what 2-3 years now. The situation has been the same for past few years and by now we should have had a plan for such occasions. Cutting off all the mobile networks should be the last possible method implemented if there was an emergency of some sorts.

Exactly, I don't know what part of the body does he think from certainly not the brain. IEDs can be triggered from tons of things, I don't know who even came up with this really idiotic move of shutting down all the networks :S

so I believe you do not have a plan,hence neither does rehman malik. so the best option is to use your last possible method. you have to understand that politicians are good for nothing, if you want to call pakistan on eid call the land line.

And that is what I object. He with soo much power, so many resources can not come up with a plan? I mean we have ISI, Army etc and all and yet if he can not come up with a plan then who will is the question?

I dont know who takes care of the cell phone technology and the towers in pakistan. if it is an overseas company i'm sure they will not give all the information to pakistan. To me we need more educated individuals in pakistan so that pakistani people can invent, innovate and stop relying on other countries .
