There were different standards for the prophet and us muslim men now. No need to get your panties in a bunch over it. I don't know why many muslims are so uptight.

Dear lahoriii, that is very silly remark you made there. Will a prophet do anything wrong at all just to get his way?
Yes, there is logical answer and that is the prophet cannot go against god deliberately. Here is what god told him as regard marriage law.
004.002 YUSUFALI: To orphans restore their property (When they reach their age), nor substitute (your) worthless things for (their) good ones; and devour not their substance (by mixing it up) with your own. For this is indeed a great sin.
004.006 YUSUFALI: Make trial of orphans until they reach the age of marriage; if then ye find sound judgment in them, release their property to them; but consume it not wastefully, nor in haste against their growing up. If the guardian is well-off, Let him claim no remuneration, but if he is poor, let him have for himself what is just and reasonable. When ye release their property to them, take witnesses in their presence: But all-sufficient is Allah in taking account.
004.019 YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness, that ye may Take away part of the dower ye have given them,-except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and Allah brings about through it a great deal of good.
A person is not to marry under age, mentally immature or by force.
All ahadith are false that tell us things against the prophet. To really understand what islam is read what I have written on my thread.
regards and all the best.

Dear lahoriii, islam is a way of life based on principles of freedom of thought and expression therefore it is anti oppression and suppression. It is based on social justice therefore anti injustice. It is based on fairness therefore anti unfairness. It is based on peace therefore anti disturbance and instability or terrorism or chaos. It is based on principle of cooperation between human being hence anti noncooperation. It is based on principle of progess therefore anti stagnation or regression. It is based on principle of prosperity therefore anti poverty. It is based on principle of knowledge therefore anti ignorance, illiteracy and ignorance.
IT IS BASED ON PRINCIPLE OF HUMANITY AND BROTHERHOOD therefore it is anti slavery and exploitation, use or abuse.
Islam teaches human beings to live for each other not against each other as a good family.
Please put some time and effort into knowing proper islam properly and hopefully you will not be disappointed and that you will become the messenger for peace and brotherhood.
regards and all the best.

I'll just say that u should follow the local law in this particular matter. In pakistan, it is illegal to marry a girl under the age of 16, n now there are talks about increasing this age to 18. Although according to islam, it is not illegal to marry girl under age of 16 but islam also teachs us to follow the local govt law.

LOL... Maybe I was better off not knowing all of this you've just confused me even more. Maybe I'll use some Islamic website next time.
One question though, Mughal.. What makes you think you understand Islam better than everyone else on this site? I mean since you keep asking me to read your posts in order to understand Islam?

honeslty if you have problems go a scholar. Now a days in amercan and europe it wouldnt be that much a problem for sisters to get in touch with local scholars...through their brothers, cousins family members or even themselves if the local mosque provides such a facility.
otherwise very good websites on quran and sunnah exist .... where you can get your knowledge.
Still if yo u want to have a taste of live experience of acquiring knowledge then Islamic talks also do take place in america and europe. And these happen a lot. And these are open to both brothers and sisters with both being separated into different rooms or partitions. You can also go these places.
Discussing about deen where we are making our own interpretations of verses and hadiths might faulter us into mocking the very own commands of Allah.
But then i have my personal view that Post counts and curiosity of finding out what lies in the mind of the other person behind the keyboard might be the driving factors in posting in religious sections.

First of all, nobody has a "problem". I don't know if you have a problem understanding the question or whether you just get offended really easily, but I never said Prophet Muhammed necessarily did anything wrong which is what you all seem to be assuming for some reason.
About going to a Mosque.. I didn't feel the need to do that. Islamic websites? Well, I quite obviously don't use or know of any of those sites. Maybe next time you should list those "very good websites on quran and sunnah" if you really wanna help, you know like electric provided links and cric_craze provided videos. I didn't ask for any "personal interpretations of verses and hadiths". Being a Muslim surely you should be able to answer SOME questions when you're asked, or do you always direct people to a scholar? Or in case a non-muslim asks, you start attacking their religion instead as we have seen you do so often.. Hah.
Jo bhi hai, I didn't think the question was that complicated. I opened this thread thinking people who have read about it would be able to answer my question, had it been a more serious issue I probably wouldn't have asked on here. In the future though, I definitely won't be doing that again as only few of you have the ability to answer in a tolerant way.

thanks for it. its ok
sorry for off-topic: i feel there is a problem while communicating on the net. Forums , blogs, emails, chat etc....unless a person (i give my example) does not know the art of writing skills that appear decent and polite ...it is very difficult to win friends.
I noticed this when i came to UK....people whom i comunicated through internet thought i was some stuck-up snob until they meet me and think wow he is such a nice person(not trying to praise myself )...lollzzz... a big big gap in skills
